My salad arrived and was very appealing to the eye as well as the palette. Sal's offered a large assortment of house made selections all of which sounded amazing as I read through the menu. Multiple times the owners checked on my dining party and were very friendly, striking up conversation. The staff at Sal's was friendly and accommodating. Hesitant at first, I was quickly settled in to an amazing dining experience. I recently gave Sal's a try on my recent trip to Kill Devil Hills based on the NY Pizza reference in the name. The Fat Man says that Tortuga's' Lie is Fat Man Approved with 2 chins.Īn amazing dining experience in Kill Devil Hills! The portions are huge, the price is small. The servers were nice, but the place is small, so there may be a wait.
FISH HEADS RESTAURANT NAGS HEAD FULL
They have a full bar and also a couple of volleyball courts out back.

The menu offers fresh seafood as well as several sandwiches, burgers and entrées. While the rice and beans were prepared and cooked well, they lacked in a ton of flavor.
FISH HEADS RESTAURANT NAGS HEAD SKIN
The skin was crispy, which added a great texture to the dish. The chicken was cooked perfectly, it was juicy, flavorful and the spice level was warm but not overpowering. This dish came with a leg and thigh(or breast), jerk seasoning and a warm pineapple chutney. I had the Jamaican Jerk Chicken with Rice and Black beans. The rice and beans were cooked well, but they were not overly flavorful. It could have used some sugar to up the flavor and help punch through the heat of the jalapeños. The fish was light and flaky but needed a touch of salt. This is made with flour tortillas, jack cheese, sliced cabbage, cilantro, house-made sauce, sour cream and jalapeños. My fiancé had the Fish Tacos with Rice and Black Beans. It is at the top of mild in heat, but it could use a little salt to enhance the flavor. It has a nice taste with a peppery finish. The chips were out of a bag, but they were fresh.

We started with the Chips and House Made Salsa. Tortuga's is a seafood spot with Caribbean fare. A short venture down from our hotel, Fat Man Reviews stopped into Tortuga's' Lie in Nags Head, NC.
